Other chronic diseases & C. pneumoniae

C. pneumoniae has also been associated with other chronic diseases including sarcoidosis, and bronchial and lung cancer etc [see also introduction, Table 1]. References to these topics are hyperlinked below. In general the literature is sparse and studies of these chronic diseases are characterised by conflicting results which is likely to be in part due to a lack of standardized methodology, particularly for the diagnosis of chronic infection.
