I will now limit myself to a single family, Chlamydiaceae. Here the available information permits more detailed examination of evolutionary questions than is presently possible with the other Chlamydiales families. However, the little that has been learned about the other Chlamydiales should not be forgotten. It may help us understand Chlamydiaceae.
